If ya’ll can’t tell, we’re way too excited over Daft Punk and TRON: Legacy. This is a 6 minute sample released by the duo from their fast-approaching theatrical debut as the composers for the entire musical score for Disney’s new film. Take a listen as Bangalter and de Homem-long-name get their Hans Zimmer on. Not so surprisingly, they pull it off amazingly well, successfully arranging an 100 piece orchestra to create a musical score that not only pays homage to the form and function of classical music but also includes a little Daftness as well.

Dazed Digital presents a sneak peek at Daft Punk‘s impending visual opus. So far all details about the project are still shrouded in mystery, but as the end of the clip shows, the date of November 18, 2010 has been firmly attributed to the film. However, we do know that the movie will be devoid of dialogue, and promises a musical and visual journey. This is big folks, and with TRON: Legacy just over the horizon the French duo of Bangalter and de Homem-Christo continues to be at the very forefront of happenin’.
This, along with the score for Tron, hints at what house music’s biggest duo has been up to during their all-too-famous and all-too-long 2 year hiatus—and now in just under a week’s time we’re set to experience a portion of their epic return.

Yes, Tron, is, back. And this time, its to Daft Punk, who made the original soundtrack. Check out their cameo in the trailer.
