Lemonade (Gesaffelstein Remix)
posted by: chopsticks

Hype y’all, get it started. The current golden boy of techno, Gesaffelstein, is remixing a track originally done as a joint effort between the current king of techno, Boys Noize, and the current prince, Erol Alkan. That’s right y’all, Lemonade (Gesaffelstein Remix). Feast your eyes and ears on Erol playing it.

Now, as with any track featuring such names on the bill, this tune’s getting mad buzz. Lots of different opinions on this one though, and I gotta say I like that producers are starting to go out on a limb focusing on what they wanna hear rather than what the masses wanna hear.

Girl Unit – Wut (Claude Von Stroke Remix)
posted by: chopsticks

San Francisco based producer Claude VonStroke has seen fit to remix Girl Unit‘s breakout track, Wut. Much love for the original, but some didn’t take too well to the strong hip hop influence, so Claude’s done a little bit of a housier take on this for us. Personally, I think it’s dope.

Out July 27th on a VonStroke remix compilation on his own Dirtybird Records.

Dr. Gonzo – Bust ‘Em Up EP [Southern Fried]
posted by: chopsticks

dr gonzo bust em up ep southern fried records

Contrary to popular belief, Christmas must be in April. Crookers‘ new side-project, Hive Mind Entity, featuring Savage Skulls, Wax Motif, and Neoteric, called Dr. Gonzo, takes off today with the release of Bust ‘Em Up, a three track EP filled with awesome. I’m a big fan of the Crookers’ brand of house, and this little side project with another of my favorite producers Savage Skulls is producing some dope futuristic sounds.

Tracklist:
Bust ‘Em Up (Savage Skulls & Crookers)
Get the Fuck Out of My House (Savage Skulls & Crookers)
Springer (Wax Motif & Neoteric)

Purchase via Beatport.

Preview below: Annie Mac debuting to the world on her show earlier this year.

Jack Beats – Up All Night (Skream Remix)
posted by: chopsticks

Jack Beats has got to be one of my favorite producers nowadays. They got a new single coming on April 17 called All Night, featuring a b-side that’s rumored to be a collab with Diplo (it’s quite dope). Dubstep big-hitter Skream has stepped up to the plate to remix it, and I gotta say, I used to be a hater but now I’m most definitely a lover. His remix of CassiusI Love U So, already one of my favorites, was absolutely lovely and solidly in my all time favorites. However, this mix is distinctly more dubby and less dnb, but still, the rest is, again, quite dope.

Rye Rye – Sunshine
posted by: chopsticks

rye rye sunshine mia

For all of us here at EF Records, a staple voice in just about every set we play is Baltimore rapper Rye Rye. At 19 years old, she’s one of the youngest names in the industry but has already been making noise all over the place, from appearing at huge festivals like WMC and Ultra to being featured in the latest Crookers album to doing multiple tracks with Diplo. She’s also recently struck up a friendship with M.I.A., with whom she’s already done one collab track, Bang. Check out the latest child from the couple below, dubbed Sunshine (to our surprise, Diplo ain’t the father of this one either!).

If you liked that, the remix album just dropped today over at Interscope Records, featuring reworks from electro bigwigs like JFK (of MSTRKRFT) and LA Riots, as well as nice filthy dubstep adaptation from the always-raging 12th Planet. Head on over to Interscope to purchase it!

However, since I can’t always pay for music either, if you wanna cop but don’t have the cash, look no further. As long as you have Serato, you can get it here free: whitelabel.net

Cheers,
adam
