We’re all excited over Major Lazer‘s new album. Super hype. Next to no news about it so far, but we have been promised one thing: soon. The duo’s last mixtape Lazerproof with La Roux was superb, and this joint is looking like it’s gonna follow up in fine fashion.
Techno music bigwigs Para One, Bobmo, and Surkin are teaming up to create a new label called Marble Music. These three dudes are awesome, and logically such a combination promises a Voltron-esque fusion of greatness that can only lead to even more Voltron-esque awesomeness. This label is definitely one to look for as 2011 goes on, and the first release from the label will be MRBL001 Marble Anthem from the Marble Players, aka Para One, Bobmo, and Surkin. Preview both tracks on the EP below. Marble Anthem is absolutely HUGE. Definitely one of the best tracks of the year thus far. Playgroud is also very very solid, sounds like techno with a few jackin’ elements of Chicago house and a pretty large bassline that comes down after the drop. Me gusta.
Justice‘s much-hyped new single Civilization was apparently featured on a new adidas campaign advert called “All Adidas”. Whatever, but this does mean that there’s now a snippet, ripped from the ad, of the new single.
Seems to be the boys of old. Confirmed to be released in its full glory April 4, with a full length sophomore LP to follow sometime later this year. The original electro-rock getting its revival with Justice and their Canuck-American counterparts MSTRKRFT both getting back with the sounds that made them huge.
Sound of Stereo is most definitely one of my all time favorite acts. Their sound is somewhat indescribable when it comes to genre, falling somewhere in the realm of electro and house and techno and whatever, but it undeniably lends itself to huge bangaranging and general loss of cognitive ability when sonically ingested. Peep Lektroluv‘s preview of the A-side of their upcoming release Hurricane / Typhoon below.
Quite large. Lektroluv is gonna be killing it in ’11, look out for a release from Belgian bangers The Subs out on the 7th (ft. mega hyped remixes from Ado, Clouds, Style of Eye, and Gtronic, among others).
