MSTRKRFT – Back in the USSA

No, that isn’t your browser failing to load the artwork. According to their management’s soundcloud, that black square is the artwork for MSTRKRFT‘s newest, Back in the USSA. JFK’s revived DFA1979, and it appears to be having an interesting effect on his production. With 2006′s biggest acts coming back into the spotlight, 2011′s being set up as a showdown between the heavy hitters of old and the young guns of today’s progressive sound.

MSTRKRFT – Beards Again

mstrkrft - beards again

Hey, kids! Wanna hear a brand new MSTRKRFT track posted about 4 hours ago by their agency? Epic guitar riffs and drums for about 3 minutes straight, followed by a bowel-clearing bass drop around 3:12. I like it a lot. Kudos to the boys–I guess they heard Justice was coming back and decided to get busy.

So Big Boi is Coming to CHS
posted by: machete

Well, it’s confirmed on the tour page of his website: the grittier 1/2 of the genre-defining Outkast is playing the Charleston Visitor’s Center, which I can only assume is that shed across the street from the Music Farm, on October 28, 2010. Why he would be playing in Columbia then flying to Seattle and then back to Charleston is sort of a mystery, but if MTV Cribs is any indicator of how much cash this dude has, then I guess a couple of plane tickets to Big Boi would basically amount to what bus fare is for me.

A little bird told me that electro house heavyweights MSTRKRFT are being eyed as a potential opening act. While it’s definitely a contrasting lineup, are you really going to argue with two acts like this playing in Charleston for whatever reason? Hell no. But even if MSTRKRFT doesn’t end up on the bill, Big Boi coming to Charleston is kind of a big deal.
