While I can’t imagine what the dynamic of a show like that will be (are they performing on a boat? If so, that’s dope!), here’s a little dub I did involving Big Boi I think you’ll enjoy, Charleston–and you can download it for free:
Well, the Ghostland Observatory show was mighty, mighty excellent last night. I hope ya’ll had as much fun as we did. I’ve never EVER seen the Farm that packed and shit got REAL sweaty. Could not ask for a better send off in Charleston.
Special thanks to Nicole, Nora, and Brandon for helping make amazing costumes and working everyone into a frenzy dancing their little asses off. Our own Benjamin Bowers did an amazing job on videos as always. Big ups to Greg Wahlers (the mystery man who was killing it on keytar/talk box). Could not have done it without you guys! Oh, and Andrew Smith killed it on lights, with very limited options! ^_^
Here’s a little taste of what happened during our set (courtesy of our friends Daxon and Carolyn). It was a spectacle:
So fun! By the end, we had full grown men singing Karen O and the Kids. Haha. No one could believe it was only 10PM. Ghostland proceeded to KILL IT as usual (they covered Darling Nikki at one point! Jesus!). Oh, and there was a super fun afterparty at Tivoli warehouse.
Here are a couple of edits I did for the show. Enjoy! You can download them for free. I’ll upload my set from the show ASAP. Also, CMNDer and myself may be opening for Ghostland in November in LA! Crossing our fingers. We love these guys. The new album sounds dope. Get ready for that drop!
Well, it’s confirmed on the tour page of his website: the grittier 1/2 of the genre-defining Outkast is playing the Charleston Visitor’s Center, which I can only assume is that shed across the street from the Music Farm, on October 28, 2010. Why he would be playing in Columbia then flying to Seattle and then back to Charleston is sort of a mystery, but if MTV Cribs is any indicator of how much cash this dude has, then I guess a couple of plane tickets to Big Boi would basically amount to what bus fare is for me.
A little bird told me that electro house heavyweights MSTRKRFT are being eyed as a potential opening act. While it’s definitely a contrasting lineup, are you really going to argue with two acts like this playing in Charleston for whatever reason? Hell no. But even if MSTRKRFT doesn’t end up on the bill, Big Boi coming to Charleston is kind of a big deal.
