EF Records is an independent record label founded in 2009. Based in LA and Charleston, SC, EF Records artists DJ, host parties, and produce music in a wide range of genres including electro, house, and disco.
San Francisco based producer Claude VonStroke has seen fit to remix Girl Unit‘s breakout track, Wut. Much love for the original, but some didn’t take too well to the strong hip hop influence, so Claude’s done a little bit of a housier take on this for us. Personally, I think it’s dope.
Out July 27th on a VonStroke remix compilation on his own Dirtybird Records.
After putting out their first release in over 2 years this past April, supported by an Adidas video, the French electro duo has just released the official video for their new track ‘Civilization’.
Dim Mak‘s prodigy boy Felix Cartal is releasing a new joint EP with Keatch entitled Animals. After their very successful Solar/Lunar EP a few months back, this release is looking incredibly strong. Lazy Bird is very much the classic distorted-electro-banger and pulls it off well whereas Fish acts as the perfect B-side with a more interesting take on the same theme.
Peep both below. As previously mentioned, Lazy Bird is a bomb, but my personal favorite is Fish, which is absolutely great.
Diplo is probably the motherfucker you wanna hear least about right now. He’s been ballin out since the early millenium and hasn’t stopped. Famous as fuck for the Major Lazer collab with Switch (of which a new LP is due very very soon), our boy Wesley Pentz has a new EP coming out for himself on his own Mad Decent label.
Track is in collaboration with fellow Mad Decent contract artist Hugo Douster. Planetary tribal techno beats with no shortage of bass, this tune is a slammer.
Pretty signature Diplo video, and a very hot track. Out for free download this Monday, stay tuned to @diplo & @hugodouster on twitter for the free steeze.
We taking a trip to the islands tonight at Sub Standard. Trinidad and Tobago native, now LA resident Jillionaire (Mad Decent), will be on the decks tonight, killing it. He’s bringing some serious summertime music, and ladies..he’s talking to you.

New York/Chicago DJ, Brenmar, who we’ve been keeping up with for the past year or so, just dropped the video to his track Taking it Down. His style mixes RNB, UK Funky, and Tech-house for a pretty original sound that he has put onto some dope remixes as well recently. Taking it Down is an original track, listen and download here.
Here’s a new live set from our Atlanta based homie Black Dominoes. He closed out the Mad Decent WKND party last week at the legendary Chase St Warehouse with a 3-5am set after a lineup including Paul Devro, Depressed Buttons, Benzona, and DJ HAHA. Check out the mix and the video from Mad Decent below.
Our awesome friends at Pistil Films shot this video for us during our last Homegrown warehouse party in Charleston. It definitely captures the Electric Friends vibe, and for those who don’t know, shows how we like to get down. Watch it and check out the rest of Pistil Films cool vids at on their Vimeo page.
It doesn’t matter if you thought it could. It doesn’t matter if you thought it SHOULD. Moombahton is officially going to be a household name now that Diplo is putting out Blow Your Head Vol. 2 Dave Nada Presents Moombahton.
Lemme give y’all a rundown on what’s going on right now (as I type this post). It’s 4:48AM and I’m at the college library. Head buried in books? No no, even with two finals starting in about 3 hours, studying has yet to go down. Instead my adderall consumption has led me to focus my attentions on music rather than words, notes, definitions, theories, and other such bullshit. So, in honor of the great standard under which all student-kind unite, I present to you the fruits of my refusal to do anything productive in the form of a short little mix done 100% via mousepad.
Easy listening disco and house music with a few throwbacks, a few classics, and a few gems you won’t hear anywhere else. It’s officially summertime (well, for me in like 6 or 7 hours it is), and that means good vibes you guys. Tracklist will just be a secret for now, but if you really really wanna know holler and I might throw you a bone or two.
