Boys Noize – The Creators Project Interview
posted by: chopsticks

Believe the hype. Boys Noize is probably my favorite producer/dj/person in the world right now, and no one can dispute that the guy is at the forefront of electronic music happenings. The dudes over at The Creators Project managed to catch up with Mr. Ridha in a pretty spectacular video interview as well as a textual one. Amazing insight into the life, production, and performance of one of the world’s top DJs, a definite must see. Check below for the interview and awesome video.

Brenmar: EF Records Interview
posted by: cmnder

Brenmar by Maja Cule, brenmar taking it down

Brenmar (aka Bill Salas) came out strong in 2010 with a slew of bootlegs, a national tour, and an EP on Discobelle called At it Again. I came across Brenmar’s 24k Mix this past summer, and my first thought was: “this is fresh.” He’s somehow brought a lot of what’s current under one roof, producing a plethora of dancefloor jams, sometimes reworking RnB songs you would never think to drop in a house or strictly dance set (example: Cassie’s Me & U, featured on Brodinski’s Best of Everything Vol. 2 mixtape). His tracks have a forward-moving beat behind them, heavy bass, and they always manage to be high energy without splitting your ears. I would describe his overall sound as future tribal, usually with a vocal sample you wish you’d thought of, and a tinge of dutch house… but we’ll let him tell you about it. Now living in Brooklyn, his tracks more than hint at his deep Chicago roots and influences from juke, RnB, hip hop, and house.

After catching him at Dim Mak Tuesdays here in LA last month we followed up online for a little interview. Read it after the jump!
